^^^Yes. I was having a chat with someone in regards to this album. What was said was basically we would both like this a lot more if underOATH didn't write it, as if some random band did this. underOATH is much better than this album and DTGL shows it.

I wouldn't listen to this if anyone did it.

uhhh...sorry. hawthorne heights and the used compared to UO? let me know how you came up with that, im intrigued. (this isn't sarcasm, im just lost as to the connection...)

Uninspired vocals and guitar work with half-assed drumbeats that come together into an incohesive mess that is hard to not only appreciate but to enjoy. I may not like a band, but I can usually understand why anyone could like it. But this, The Used or Hawthorne Heights? I can't understand why. It's just bad. It's not worse than poor, but it comes dangerously close. I would assume even scene kids into the screamo scene would understand that this isn't the best there is. Get their new CD or find a better band. This Message Edited On 03.08.07

I personally love the album, not so much for the musicality, but the fact that it touches a nerve in terms of getting me pumped up... (mainly because i saw their live show and every time i listen to it, its like im back crowdsurfing to "dangerous buisness". I could see how people wouldn't like this album, but in comparison to define the great line, i feel that this one is still superior.
that is just an opinion, however.

Man o man how I used to love this album. The more I expanded my music the more this kind of stuff seemed mediocre, bland, generic and well, scene.
Define The Great Line >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>the rest of their discography.

well, i fucking love the album. it's what got me into the genre and everything metalcore (go ahead and insult my genre classification) in the first place, and everytime i listen to it again, i still am really moved by it.

| |
This album is boring. Acts of Depression is the only Underoath release that held my interest after 2 listens. Only because it's so fucking crazy. But yeah, the rest of the discography sucks.
|
| |
This album isn't boring at all. The songwriting is really well done, and it has some great ambient layering to it. Spencer vocals sound great along with the music, and I'm glad he did a style more similar to Dallas for this release.
Reinventing Your Exit is kind of annoying though. This Message Edited On 11.08.07

I dont know what to consider Changing Of Times as, but a good cd, this is catchy as hell.
|
| |
The Changing Of Times is metalcore.
Since when? Their last album was as close to metal as they get, but still isn't. The previous albums are certainly not metal.
They're in the metal section because 3/5 of their albums are metalcore albums, and one of their albums is purely metal. This is their only non-metal album.

An unfortunate departure from their old work, but still a solid album nonetheless.
Some catchy tracks, but overall, quite the downgrade from their work with Dallas Taylor on vocals.
