What's the deal uh and Childhood's end are top Floyd songs.

I really like this album, but it's far way of being one of my favorite works of them. The problem with this album is that is the soundtrack of a movie with the same name, that I saw in the 70's, and sincerely I'm not a great fan of the movie neither of the album. It has some nice songs but I sincerely think that none is memorable. I think it's the same with More. I think both suffer of the same problem.

I don't even like comparing this to More aside from the fact they are soundtracks. This is so much better. Like Meddle, part of their evolution into becoming the band to make Dark Side of the Moon.

The t/t, Mudmen, Childhood's End, all top notch. It's a fairly consistent work too, with the odd exception.

I can agree with you, that this is probably better than More and that represents an evolution in relation to it. But I can't compare it with Meddle. Meddle is much better. What is most strange to me is that Obscured By Clouds seems to me released out of time. I sincerely think that even Atom Heart Mother is better than this one. Unfortunately Atom Heart Mother is an underrated album. What it seems to me is that Obscured By Clouds should have been released before those both albums.

Nah Obscured sounds like a transitionary track between Meddle and Dark Side... it deff makes sense that it came out when it did.

Ok, man. It's your opinion and I respect it. But I don't have that same feeling about it.

Well yeah I mean Meddle is probably my favorite album of all time (ok fuck it, it IS my favorite album of all time), and this represents Floyd during that period. In that sense, I can't not like it, personally.

AHM is definitely underrated. It's more free form, quite different than almost anything else they have ever done.

I don't think OBC sounds like the transition from Meddle into DSOTM, but it sounds like part of that metamorphic period though. It's quite different than Meddle, but I can see a lot of similarities too.

I mean it's spacier like Darkside, but still holds onto the older prog sound of Floyd like Atom+Meddle, at least I always thought so.

Probably, the problem with the album is that it's a soundtrack. As I saw the movie I probably link both things. And as I don't like particularly the movie and I also think that it's too much dated, I mean the album. It reminds me the typical lyrical movies of the 60's with the flower power so typical of those years.

you know, this album is great, and it's still astounding that they went directly from this to the fucking dark side of the moon

Criminally underrated this one; the themes are beautiful, the atmosphere serene and peaceful and the whole things flows great. It's just that it is between Meddle and Dark Side Of The Moon and, naturally, is forgotten in the grand scheme of things.

gotta listen to some Beck, been postponing it for years. These days I'm jamming with Pink Floyd's discog. It's been a long time.

Sea Change is a REALLY overly serious album for him so it's not a good starting point. I recommend Odelay
