Jammed this a couple of times over the past few days. It's a major shock to the system after SD and Mellon Collie, but I'm quite enjoying it. I'd probably rate it a 3.5. Agree with the others who said that this album could have benefited from a few heavy guitar tracks (literally only 2 or 3) to balance it out a bit.

Heavy guitar tunes would have broken the spell here

Fair point, I hear ya. But this is seriously a big wtf album in the context of the band's prior output. Enjoyable though.

I'd be upset if they had made another album with heavy guitars. They had done all they could down that path. To switch it up and nail this sound was genius

This has really clicked with me lately. The last three songs are so good.

I heard it quite a lot back in September and it has some great tracks, but overall I didn't "feel" it quite as much as you guys. It's a nice album, but probably only a 3 or a 3.5 at best for me. I'll try to listen to it tomorrow to see how I feel about it now.

I'll never bump this higher than a 3.5, just because Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie are miles ahead. This is great though, Corgan really nailed the softer sound.

For sure, Siamese Dream is a classic, and Mellon Collie is excellent as well. From what I seem to remember, Adore wasn't quite on the same level.

It's not, but it's as good as Gish and Gish rules.

Perhaps Ars, I'll need a few songs to grow on me a bit more.

i always thought the pumpkins were at their best with their softer material.......going to try to re-digest this and see if it grows on me.....never cared for it especially after mellon collie

It's a heck of a change of sound Titan, but there are some serious gems here. For Martha, Pug, Once Upon a Time etc, and I really like the two singles. Perfect isn't a patch on 1979 however.
