yeah Deltron Event II or w/e. Just heard about it and got excited. Apparently it's really old (2006) news but the scratching and beats are done and Del won't rap on it yet.

^Yeah its kind of a Glassjaw deal where it's been in the works forever getting people pumped for it but seems like it will never come out. Except GJ has had some recent news indicating a release soon, this has pretty much been left at Dan and Kid Koala (that's him right?) being done and Del not doing anything. Which is bullshit, I heard somewhere he wrote lyrics to this in 2 weeks. What is Del doing that's more important? I love Del but it's not like he's got shit going for him that's better than Deltron.

This is good but a little overated here imo, the songs get a little meh after a while and the choruses are very repetitive. But don't get me wrong its still a great album, and has some pretty sick tracks, Del's a pretty good rapper too.

Burn... nah I think this just needs time to grow on me i've only heard it 4 times but illmatic is one of the most influential rap albums ever

you're thinking of 36 chambers or mecca & the soul brother except those albums are better and more influential

Regardless of how influential illmatic may or may not be, NY State of Mind makes the rest of the album a snorefest for me.

To each his own I'm just saying Illmatic had an impact on almost every mainstream-ish rapper for the next 10 years or so...it actually used to bore me too though, anyways im bumping this album up to a 4

Yeah Illmatic was hugely influential. It's just never seemed that great to me, but I'm not saying it isn't an awesome album because I know most people think that, it's just never been my thing.

can you perform witchcraft or real havoc? nah love, i can't get past the pill cabinet. but i can do a "get-quick-cash and bill" tactic, fuck it man, i still skip songs on illmatic. i even gave jessica alba a fake number, my name is mac lethal your mysterious lover

eh, dunno that I can push this past a 4 right now, I did have it at a 4.5 very briefly. It's amazing, but it drags at times and his flow doesn't have enough variation for my taste. Still, it's really effin good. that quote up there is from a Mac Lethal song, you should hit up my recent review for him and listen to his shit. Criminally overlooked here at Sputnik..

I don't think this album is as good as many make it out to be, great production but Dr. Octagon is better all-around
