Ill see Nightwish live in a couple months, thats the reason I got this album in the first place. I like it a lot, but I dont see how you guys can give this a 5. The first 4 songs are good, but Master Passion Greed, Sahara, and Whoever Brings The Night are pretty intolerable for myself. The Poet and the Pendulum, Amaranth, For The Heart I Once Had, and the two Celtic songs are quite good though.

Listening to this album on great speakers though, like I did with my tv, made this album so much better. My gosh, the way it transitioned from song to song was so amazing. I heard every little touch of all of the instruments. I know this album from front to back, maybe more than anyone else on this site, and I got goosebumps still from listening to Master Passion Greed. I have NEVER had goosebumps from listening to that song.

Creamcrazy gtfo, Annete isn't even that great. Poetandthependlum and Call Of The Wilds are my favorite songs here but I find this as a 4. Tarja ftmfw.

I just said I preferred Annette's voice to Tarja's, don't need to be pissed about it Balls

Poet and the Pendulum rules but they play the orchestra from tape considering they can't afford the real thing.

But the fiery razor-blade thingies during the loud part of the song are teh gg.

I read somewhere last year that they want to play with the London Orchestra in Finland. That would be awesome.

This is a great cd and really the only Nightwish cd I like. Tarja's voice got on my nerves after a couple songs. Anette is a much better vocalist.

Im not into this album anymore. I used to think it was great a couple months ago, but now i just think its boring as hell to sit through.

Tarja and Annette take a very different approach vocal wise, personally I quite like Annette's voice, but it does somewhat poppy compared to the previous material Nightwish have recorded. Tarja as we know if very operatic whereas Annette seems to be more the rock/metal kind of vocalist.

I think it's pretty much what you prefer vocal wise. I still listen to this album and I really enjoy it. But as I said before it's down to what you prefer I'd say, in my opinion anyway. Also I did notice the album is a lot more heavier than Nightwish would normally be which is really good in a lot of ways but the stuff before this album is still brilliant by all means

Also very solid review as well. I enjoyed reading it.

I realzie I should stop hulking out to Annete. In all fairness she's pretty for an old woman. But Poet And The Pendulum, both the song and user are fuckin phenominal a totally (non)gay way. This Message Edited On 07.28.08

yay!! lol. She's only like 37. Which is still younger than Marco and his 42 year old self. I am just happy that after their world tour ends in early 2009, Nightwish will start recording their 7th album. :D

Holopainen is like 32 and Tarja is like 30, but god damn son, Marco is 42!!!. Wonder about Emppu, guy looks exactly the same with every group picture in their passing album coverwork. Hopefully in the enxt recording process somebody dosen't die of old age, of course if they did, they could also bring in a young gun like Simone Simmons.

They should have Simone AND Annette sing together, as a permanent line-up. Now that would be amazing.
