Me and this album just don't connect on the same level as youse guys. Towards And Against. That song is perfect and the utter definition of the word METAL!

yes... yes it is.
I still wish the singer growled more. His harsh vocals kick so much ass but his clean vocals were pretty much dominant through the entire album.
My "perfect" album is most likely In Mourning's Shrouded Divine. That album just connected with me in so many ways. Also, BWP... but that is just about everybodies perfect album lol.

Yeah...I don't really get the fuss over this record. Same with that Katatonia album everyone is always going on about...just doesn't click with me. The vocals and the music...just seems really bland.

True...maybe a 3 is more worthy. I mean its not a 2.5 or lower, thats for sure. But yes, I find it kinda bland, multiple listens in and its not so much, the lyrics are great too. Maybe I need to give it another shot.

I find this to be great, it's musically excellent but not sure about the vocal patterns and general songwriting factor. I do wish the harsh vocals were used more like on the previous album, they're quite excellent.

you sir are a hypocrite because your rating and your actual opinion on the album are 2 different things. Either you do not really know what to think, or you need a lecture on how the rating system goes on this site. 3.5 does not mean "bland".

Hmmm, I think this is close to a 5 but some songs feel a little too short and while every song sounding different is a great, great thing, some just sound a little too different - it feels like there's no real trademark/recurring moments to associate with the album, idk.
