Yeah, I know what you mean. I think it's a mixture of the almost bare bones riffage and some weird production. It's got a weird vibe. What's really weird is that Mudvayne sucked total dick prior to this album too, so somehow they sucked and found it in them to write a great album that sounded nothing like anything they'd done prior, and then they just went back to sucking.

Yeah, I'll take their image over scene/core/djent (Meshuggah isn't djent btw, someone invented that shit over 10 years after they were making music) or whatever other subgenre pussifies metal. They looked silly as fuck, but atleast they didn't look like a bunch of crying vaginas.

Djent image is ok, most of the members of djent bands looks like normal middle class young adults. Scenecore image is awful, I agree with that. Also Juggalos image and other shit like that is far worse than the image of this band.
