the lyrics are yet another reason i love the Stupid Dream/Lightbulb Sun era. they were, for the most part, so human. Wilson came across as someone who was actually writing lyrics just to see what he could come up with, without there being some sort of grand statement or whatever.

I just heard it, and yes, it does rule hard. Not for everyone though, it demands a patient listener. Listening to PT makes me think of doing yoga.

'Signify' wasn't exactly a bad album, but it did depend greatly on the use of psychedelic passages and the use of unnecessary tracks that didn't last more than a minute. On 'Stupid Dream' however, the music has fully developed and with some truly stunning songs (Even Less, Piano Lessons and Tinto Brass being the highlights for me), this is where the sound came together for the band. And they haven't looked back since.

Signify was an excellent album that wasn't as consistent as this, but the best bits were slightly better. Even Less, Don't Hate Me, Stranger By The Minute and A Smart Kid rule hard
