i was just reading some of the lyrics, and IMO some of them are really cringesome.

For example:

'eat the weak,

f*** the flesh,

slit the throat,

consume the dead'

i mean talk about stereotypical.....

this is their most extreme album, also their best to date.

The Apostasy is a crushing album that also has fantastic musicianship. Inferno's drumming is godlike, and whether he's playing blast beats at lightning speed or keeping a monster groove on the slower songs, his playing is flawless. The songs on this album are really catchy, and the main reason is that are so many different clever riffs packed into each track. Nergal has some interesting solos, but the riffs are what are really memorable.

Fuck all you faggots puking your shit reviews on this album!

All other...stay true!

Lol @ NERGUL being the vocalist's stage name!!!

I would love these guys if they weren't super "kill everyone that believes in God" and I could understand what the hell the vocalist was saying. More speed than anything else, but impressive nevertheless.

I just saw these guys tonight for the first time. I have a few of their cds, but I finally got to see a full live set. Jesus Christ! I felt horrible for Job for a Cowboy seeing as they had to follow them. They put on an amazing live show. Nergal is pretty bad at soloing, but I was easily able to overlook that. They were monsters tonight.

Building on thor's response, the events they speak of in The Apostasy actually happened. The romans really did blame the christians for the fires that occurred, and (sorry for the history lesson) yes, indeed, many were fed to lions.

As is hilariously (or if you're religious, probably quite un-hilariously) demonstrated by their "Christians to the Lions" shirt

This was pretty boring. I almost find it laughable that some people had this on their Best of '07 lists.

I need to check this out. I love the stage names of this band. Nergal, Inferno, Orion, and.... Seth. It's like they drew names out of a hat and the last guy got a really shitty one. makes me lol every time I see their lineup.

They have the image of a Black Metal band, but they are Brutal/Technical Death Metal. At least now they are.

well they kinda kept the black metal look while transforming into a more death metal band. And i highly disagree that this is a 3 or that the brutality is "forced."

INFERNO FTW
