This is their first hit I've heard in mid 80's. Have you ever heard it? Their sound changed a bit since then .

My mother still has that cd somewhere, lol. Can't say I entirely dislike it, grew up hearing it and all. I still really need to hear this though.

Never heard these early albums in their entirety, but they did couple of similar hits at that time.

Laughing Stock is the greatest album ever made. Spirit of Eden is very close behind it. Colour of Spring is remarkable in its own rights.

Yeah, that album was pretty big, maybe more so in Europe than in the US/Canada. All the singles that were released from it were hits as far as I know. I once heard my mom say that Talk Talk 'went on making strange music' after It's My Life. Obviously she meant that negatively.

I still have to visit these.

Laughing Stock is truly a grower, as is Spirit of Eden.

Pink Floyd influence on this maybe? The idea that it sounded like nothing that came before is going a bit far I think. The music is what really matters beyond any supposed historical significance anyway and it sounds interesting.

Pink Floyd? hmmm I think it's more like a close cousin, a derivative of light jazz. It reminds me of some Holly Cole or Pat Metheny to some points. Even Sting, sometimes.

Quite hard to really compare it anything. I think that's one of the reasons it was - and is - so astounding.

This album is extremely good, and my opinion of it grows every time I listen to it.

I'm wondering if I should 5 it.

I just listened to this for the first time. I thought I knew what music was, but this album proved me wrong.
