I'm guessing a factor aside from musical aesthetics may be that JFAC get slack from M3TaL El33Tz because they're popular on Myspace, in the same way that black metal bands get accused of selling out if they include a keyboardist on a new album or sell more than 100 CDs.

^^^ Definitely have to agree with that.

Some metal elitists should just be less narrow minded occasionally...

I haven't used this account since...well, not since there was only musicianforums as an extension of mxtabs, but I felt like saying that I'm enjoying this album at the moment. I thought that Doom was pretty good, but this album shows definite progression from the band.

I also agree with whoever said the vocalist's deep growl sounds a little like Corpsegrinder on Kill. I'm not that sad to see the brees go, but I think a few more high screams, without the deeper growl beneath it, would have made for more variation on some of the tracks.

Oh, and Divine Falsehood should have been the album closer. It's only a mid-tempo song, but it kicks my ass every time.

EDIT: holy shit, they still have my old photo on file. This Message Edited On 05.25.07

Yeah that song is by far the best song on the album.

It doesn't matter if there's pig squeals cause they still suck.

I really find this funny coming from a guy who lists bands like Godsmack, Korn, Seether, Evanescance and Lacuna Coil as being among his favorites.

Much better than the Doom EP, but the Doom EP was terrible beyond recognition, so that's not saying much.

Oh, I also forgot Demon Hunter. They're a joke too-the only reason they were signed is because they're a christian band, and all the christcore kids would rush out to buy whatever christian music is "agressive".

Y'know, attacking someone else's taste in music because they don't like the band you do is pretty lame.

It would be if their taste wasn't lame. Can you sit down and tell me Korn writes good songs? That all of Godsmack's songs don't sound the same? That Seether isn't a radio-rock sellout? That Evanescance and Lacuna Coil don't just get by because their lead vocalists are decent?

There's a big difference between music that I don't particularly like and music that's just plain bad regardless.

But also you're just picking and choosing some of his bands. He has a huge list of bands he's rated highly. It's not like ALL the music he rated highly is Nu-Metal or radio rock. So it's still entirely lame.

The fact that he likes it just discredits anything he says for me.

Actually most of my friends listen to Progressive rock, southern rock, and jam bands, which are all good (Dave Matthews aside).

I find it funny that as a n00b you have no idea what my music tastes really are. Lacuna

Coil is the only band you listed I would even care to listen to anymore.
