personally I don't think so, doesn't go as hard but has its gems. downward's overall a more light-hearted album.

Is this heavier than Downward? Would be very much down with an album similar to The Scientists from that album. And what are earlier albums like? I ADORE Downward but need to get into their whole discog

"have u checked the records prior to this one?"

yeah they're a little more punk influenced then this or Downward I guess, but I'm still surprised they'd be considered post-hardcore. like I said I guess I'm not familiar enough with the genre

I wouldn't say this is any heavier its got that same dynamic of alternative garage rock contrasted with those softer spacey vibes, its just a bit less produced imo which plays into its strengths. just my opinion though. also check Failure I'm 100% positive you'd love them

Pretty much what TSM said. It's a lot spacier and more alternative based. It isn't as heavy but definitely as good.

really? a good chunk of my friends love this album and think downward is boring/uninteresting. Majority of the songs on here are upbeat and catchy or emotional in like an in your face kind of way

this jams yes whereas I think Downward is accessible in its way and how it's light-hearted with songs like Green to Me and Cheetah
