Before this album, the only thing of AFI's that I had heard was Miss Murder. I'd never really been a punk fan and haven't really listened to or liked much punk in the past other than A Wilhelm Scream (although they're more speed metal I'd say), and I was looking for a raw, great sounding album with good lyrics. I'm not sure what exactly lead me to looking up AFI's older things, but I searched up their older stuff to see if I could find an album that has what I was looking for, and this album delivered in all of those aspects.

Porphyria, Exsanguination, and Malleus Maleficarum all back to back is one of the most stupidly overpowered combinations ever. it's just an onslaught of what this album does best.
