Most of my Bowie CDs are the 1999 remasters and I have no problems with them, play that shit loud.

agreed i have no issue with the 99 remasters

that said i do prefer the newer versions from the 'five years' boxset, very warm and natural sounding

have replaced the 99s with those in me library for his early 70s stuff
