God we’re both on different wave lengths lol I think his cleans and normal singing here are super powerful and emotional and his screams give me chills. This is one of my fav vocal performances.

Really tho? Fave vocal performances? I mean, he sounds like basically every other alt rock band out there. Even when I loved this I didn't think it was an especially noteworthy vocal performance

I strongly disagree. I’ve been listening to this for years now and I still haven’t come across many performances that engage and grip me as much as this one. At least as far as non metal performances goes. We just look for different shit in vox performances.

Gyro, can't agree with you on this either. Whatever anyone's opinion on Dustin as a vocalist I think he has a pretty unique voice. It is very easily identifiable compared to a lot of other vocalists imo.

My god man how are the screams in Stand And Feel Your Worth mediocre in any way. They’re fucking fire.

Gotta back Mongi and Osmark. Dustin is a phenomenal vocalist.

Just after a quick run-through (just scanned random songs and listened), this definitely seems like something that could quickly grow on me. Gonna give it a proper listen later. But tbh it typically takes me 2-4 listens to really gauge if/how much I like an album.

This will take a few listens to love, but as long as you found some immediate moments to keep you coming back, it'll grow on you.

Yeah after a second spin, this is a solid 4 for me. I could def see it growing on me even more though. Excited to dig in to more of their discography. I’m thinking Alchemy, Major/Minor or To be...

Gonna give myself some time to listen to this more first.

Honestly, this album’s sound brings to mind Sempiternal quite a bit (an album that I love).

Can't say I see the Sempiternal comparison, but that's fine.

I'd agree this is definitely a grower though.

I have never really thought Dustin has had bad clean vocals but, until the Alchemy Indexes came out, his singing voice was always the weakest part of the band for me. Now, his voice is the best part of the band. Always really liked his screaming tho and the man can definitely write some great vocal melodies.

I actually hated this when it first was released. It took me quite a while before I came back to it and ended up loving it. I disliked it so much, I actually stopped paying attention to the band for a while until something from one of the Alchemy Indexes lured me back between when Earth/Air and Beggars was released and I did some catching up.

That's funny, I loved this but didn't like the alchemy index

I think I was more interested in the concepts of the Alchemy EPs than the music at first. I remember being kind of fascinated with the idea of a band writing music and lyrics specifically around the elements.

I think I came across Digital Sea randomly and was surprised at how much I liked it, which got me back into the band.

Really liking this. Might have to bump to a 4.5.

What do y’all recommend getting next? Torn between Alchemy, Major/Minor and Beggars. Leaning towards Major because I’ve read quite a few people say it’s their second best.

And how is The Artist in the Ambulance? Worth checking out?

If you want riffs, Illusion of Safety. If you want a more hardcore vibe, Artist in the Ambulance. If you want more experimentation, go Alchemy Indexes. Want a more stripped down and raw sound that's not as heavy? Beggars and M/M.

I would recommend grabbing Artist and The Alchemy Indexes

Really tho, everything from Illusion to Major Minor is quality (all ratings of 4 and higher for me) and worth checking out.

I pretty much have their entire Illusion to M/M stretch 5'd, so it's definitely all worth it

Cool. I ordered both alchemy’s, major minor and beggars. I’ll hop on Ambulance and the two new ones next.
