Yeah deja is def weaker than TDAG and daisy

That's not to say it's a weak effort. Play crack the sky is one of the best acoustic closers ive heard

deja is cleaner sounding (duh) but this is way more nuanced in terms of production

Nah. The production on Deja is solid and consistent on a fundamental level, yes. However, this album flows so smoothly for how emotional the content is.

It's just good stuff packed with emotions. Sure it'll be compared to shitty emo bands, but it's way better than that. It's just one of those albums that really makes you wonder if they'll top it. But they tease us just like Tool. And their newer singles sound like YFW and it pisses me off

I really remember deja being the most bland boring and NOT varied album by brand new. I'm going to have to listen to it cuz it's been years. I'm definitely a completely different person than when I last heard it so who knows how I'll feel about it.

I think if i'd have heard Deja when I was in my mid teens I would have loved it, but I think I came to it a little too late
