So your entire argument for it not being a classic is the genre. These guys transcend metalcore & are rooted much in hardcore anyway. I can understand not liking the vocals (I didn't at first) but the *insert genre* argument never works when trying to say something sucks. Also, not sure what Iron Maiden has to do with Converge, two very different bands. Just saying...

Homewrecker was ACTUALLY life changing for me, in the sense that it was the first full song I enjoyed with harsh vocals, one day it just clicked. And because they're relatively extreme & indecipherable harsh punk vocals it makes most DM vocals (& the like) child's play in comparison.

yeah but i think while ptes was hugely important for metalcore this has kinda transcended it, i mean you can hear this album's fingerprints all over releases in any subgenre of hardcore nowadays
