Putting this album in context of Bowie's later era really makes it make a lot more sense, it really is a culmination of a vision. So amazing. I encourage anyone who liked this but stopped listening to Bowie after scary monsters to stop being a bitch and check out the rest of his amazing discog

Lol I'm currently on let's dance making my way back to this. I still remember this decently well though and I don't think it has that sense of completeness you talk about. Some songs on here sound rly disjointed and a bit annoying (girl likes me). I don't think it helps that I dislike the title track which is like 1/4 of the total runtime. I do however love Lazarus and I Can't Give Everything Away

rabidfish, yeah ‘Outside’ is almost as important an album for me as this

Doof what are your top bowie albums and/or songs?
|
| |
Album Rating: 4.5
Top albums are Low, Ziggy and Station. Best ‘90s is definitely Outside, and that would make a top seven Bowie albums for me.
Top 5 songs maybe ‘Five Years’, ‘Stay’, ‘Station to Station’, ‘Sound and Vision’, ‘Always Crashing in the Same Car’…dunno, a lot of choice
‘Sweet Thing/‘Candidate’ from Diamond Dogs is up there too now I come to think about it.

The title track is still insanely overrated, but I like the other songs more than before, barring girl loves me, which is very annoying

Incredible album, context aside the songs are so well written regardless.
Will never be another like Bowie, rip man.

Yeah going through his discography has given me a deep appreciation of his music. Idk if any artist I've heard has had as many superb albums as him

Yooooooooo
Moonage Daydream FUCKS
If yall have to drive an hour to see it... do it
If yall were maybe waiting for it to hit streaming... don't

For me this is easily his best material. The only other songs I like are “heroes” and I guess that first song on Low? And I prob know like 25-30 classic Bowie songs

weak take, robertson! heroes ain't even close to the best song on that album, it's all about joe the lion, beauty and the beast, and blackout. this album is superb but i wouldn't put it in his top 5.
sue is so underrated. seems like many think it's one of the weaker cuts here but it might be my favourite

Sue is an awful take? Forever underrated I guess. I do love tis a pity and Lazarus tho. Still feel like the title track is massively overrated but still good

This is definitely a top four Bowie album in my book, with Lazarus, Dollar Days, and I Can't Give It All Away as the big standout tracks

robert are you saying you don’t like Life On Mars?

@Johnny, yeah, probably true. They'd be great without the context, but perhaps nothing more. The lyrics and music just hit so hard, as it is.
