But the song was about killing a mother, as far as I can remember

Wasn't that the intended theme for the album? I'm rusty on this.

Sweet Satan, it has 56 comments on songmeanings and nobody really has a clue.
But I like this:
"The mother has some sort of relationship with a hellish beast, maybe a pysical being like the incubus or a religious connection, and for some reason, becomes pregnant with a unholy spawn.
So going on this, i think this song is about the mothers final hours before passing, knowing what she has allowed her son to become."

Woah, that's cool. How interesting that it apparently isn't all that obvious what this track is about. I'll look into it too.

This probably has their best lyrics overall.
Definitely their strongest concept.

Can’t even rank them nowadays man.
Prefer just to say Sorceress is their only questionable album.

I think I like the idea of the son contemplating murdering the mother better, but regardless its fucking dope.

"Prefer just to say Sorceress is their only questionable album."
For me that title goes to Pale Communion tbh. I enjoyed Sorceress a little bit more, but they're both really bland compared to all their other work imo.

Time to spin this beast! It's been too long.

Plus there was NO (!) Opeth on the front page. Unacceptable.

Mike's cleans on Hours of Wealth are probably the best thing ever.

Yes. Hours of Wealth could very well be my fave non-metal Opeth track. Everything about it, but especially those solos.
Agreed too Luc!

Omg yeah.
At the risk of repeating this question: where does the -0.5 for this come from Morningrise?
