I like it yeah but I prefer Unforgiven

How much more black can the cover be? The answer is... none more black

I think this album has become so overrated that it's underrated. It's very consistent all the way through and the production is amazing. Regardless of what the metal heads think of Bob Rock, the 90's Metallica albums were light years ahead of the 80's albums in terms of production.
And i get the feeling that the majority of people that shit on this album have only heard Enter Sandman, The Unforgiven and Nothing Else Matters. Tracks like The Struggle Within, Through The Never and Holier Than Thou are pretty heavy/thrashy and not too dissimilar from their earlier albums.

I love most, if not all of the "non-single" tracks on here. Through the Never, God That Failed, My Friend of Misery, Of Wolf and Man, Struggle Within and Holier Than Thou... all killer fucking cuts.
Not totally discrediting Sandman, Roam, Unforgiven and NEM but those were SO damn played out back in the day.

Through The Never is a jam and a half.

I think it's solidly awesome all the way through. And yeah, the lesser known cuts here are awesome. If Holier Than Thou or Through The Never were on Master of Puppets or Ride The Lightning no one would of batted an eyelid. Other than than the 'hits' it's no way near as poppy and mainstream as people make it out to be.

it's good and stuff but i would indeed bat an eyelid and this is still their most mainstream album easily

Sandman is overplayed as hell too.
If every song on here was Sad But True quality then we'd be talking.
Album is so damn inconsistent. Has great cuts like the aforementioned Sad But True, Through the Never and Of Wolf and Man but literally every other song ranges from OK-dull.
Never get past Of Wolf and Man tbh.

When I go to clubs in town dude, well 'a' club and it's always on.
Actually no, any 'rock' orientated bar I've been in plays it next to the Strokes and shit, pretty strange.
