honestly biggest reason my rating is so low is just that i cannot vibe with spencers vocals on here. would get at least a .5 bump up if he sounded like he did literally a year later but the choice to just ape dallas the entirety of this makes this album hard for me to sit through. wild to say when on the next album he leveled up to being the greatest vocalist in the scene, but i guess it was worth it to make that first listen of in regards to myself hit like a nuke. aaron sounds great though

i do get what you mean, guess its just a tough pill for me when spencers variety is usually my draw to the band and i didnt like dallas's vocals on the first three albums so him just like, only going for that more or less is exactly the last thing i'd want him to do lol

I haven't given the first 3 enough time but from what I've heard they're all underrated.

oh oddly enough i actually fucking love dallas i just think he was a weird fit for this band. i spent like a month jamming maylene i and ii every day in college. i do like changing of times more than this fwiw but thats more the songs themselves

the changing of times owns
@hawks: act of depression is awful (the lyrics ruin it imo) but the two after are good/great, cries is a bit slapdash structurally but it's good

Re-jamming and had to bump my rating for this and DTGL. It's just one banger after another. How do you hear Reinventing Your Exit and not wanna go bananas?

Honestly, I don't see what everyone sees in this record. I didn't even enjoy it when it came out and it's aged even worse. I think if Spencer had the pipes then he has now, it would help...also much less Aaron.

it’s a time and place record, if you weren’t around for it that’s fine but that’s a loss in context. they def made better since. I don’t care for the nostalgia for it myself.
