^Yeah I know, it's not your fault. Anyway, I like some complicated music, just not complicated music that's not entertaining for me. For instance, classic Metallica is both enjoyable and complex. But I don't want to get this whole thread derailed. Or maybe I do because the argument is getting really old.
Oh, and if you're wondering about Ceci the cat, you'll hear her on "Wretch" (and this is purely trivial), as she meowed while being held by Rody as he tracked vocals
lol that poor cat's ears!!!

So on PtH's myspace, they say they are coming to St. Louis Montana. WTF??? lol, that is a pretty big fail. I would go just for Protest, but that would mean I would have to sit through bands I've never heard of, nor do I want to hear of them.

Still a solid 4 for me. Listened to it in full today, could possibly go up in the future. But definitely not down.

Ok so the vocals aren't exactly the same, but seriously there is the same amount of technicality in each of their styles (I'm citing Alaska specifically because that is the only album I have and have listened to by them, and even more specifically Selkies with the keyboard). But to say they sound nothing alike is worse than any ignorant statement I have said about this band because they do sound alike. Maybe it's cause they are fans of sweeping arpeggios or something, but yeah. This Message Edited On 05.11.08

pth is more creative than btbam
and def more technical than btbam
only thing pth and btbam got in common is changing riffs every 3-10 seconds, the guitar tone is different, dif drumming styles and dif bass style
|
| |
^disagree.
I think btbam has the ability to hold the bigger picture intact in their works (esp in
regard to a whole album)

I like this a lot now, it has grown on me quite a bit. It really made me re-think my rating of Kezia though, which doesn't seem that good in comparison.

colors is a kick ass album. thats why it is a 5
all i said is pth is more creative and technical than btbam....have you listened to the instrumentals of fortress yet?
ya btbam do think things out better album-wise i agree with that
but i doubt you can see a btbam album with 3-4 minute songs and make it sound epic like pth does.
i just respect pth better for making their songs that length opposed to trying to make a 9-11 minute epic
