Same, This is pretty much the pinnacle of anything and probably couldn't be any better than it already is

I got the bootleg version of The Mantle on vinyl less than a week before the remasters were announced.

the remasters are really great if you have the setup to notice the difference, but through cheap headphones its gonna sound pretty similar imo

those pressings aren't really bootlegs though. I'd be curious to compare the new pressing with the grau pressing.

Bootlegs = Grau pressings

He wasn't referring to the new ones as bootlegs

What scream said

I automatically typed screamo when I was typing scream (I did it again when typing it that time too). I need help.

Got the grau pressings myself a while back, way before the remasters were a thing. Would love to get those to hear what they sound like/own an official copy but I can't justify spending all that on albums I already own as much as I love them...

Wonder if my wooden box set of the first 3 albums will be worth something someday, only 500 out there according to the branding on the box.

"Bootlegs = Grau pressings"

i'm well aware but those pressings aren't bootlegs because grau had full legal rights to release them and the music is taken from the original recordings. it's just that the band didn't endorse them.

Fair enough. Most people still refer to them as bootlegs being that they were done against the band's will (I think Grau was only "supposed" to release the albums in CD version, is that right?).

something like that. i've heard those vinyl pressings are solid though.

To be fair, I've never had any issues with mine. The packaging isn't quite as nice as other official Agalloch releases I've gotten (Marrow, Serpent, PF reissue) but I can't complain about the sound quality.
