You could easily make the argument that prog metal fanboys are the worst fanboys.

I would say power metal fanboys but there's probably a lot of overlap there

Oh yeah and Transatlantic winning the "Album of the Year"... Quite surprising, although I would have given that to Gazpacho or Anathema. Glad it wasn't Yes or DT winning it though, since they were both nominated... And yeah, nominating Heaven & Earth, basically the worst thing to happen to prog in the last 10 years, for the prog album of the year is definitely fanboyism, or at least heavy nostalgia.

I don't think I've ever met a power metal fanboy, or an actual person in real life who likes power metal. ahaha

Not as huge on this as I was when I first heard it but still like it. The guitar and theatrical
wankery gets annoying after a while.

This record may have taken the place of "Awake" as my favorite Dream Theater record! This is just so tight! Everything about it is beyond amazing

I see beef ain't a big fan of this album.
At least, not as big on it as many are.

I haven't listened to this in a while but I feel it would grow off me. This was pretty much the point in their career where the wankery started getting slightly unbearable at times

I mean, "Images And Words" is an excellent release, no doubt! I just think this one and "Awake" are ever so slightly better. Not saying that it's not a fucking amazing record cause everyone knows that it is. Also, "Falling Into Infinity" almost seems pretty basic compared to most of Dream Theater's other music. I still like it though

my trainer and i jammed this the other day, it was so fucking awesome
