California > Angel Dust
Mr. Bungle > Faith No More
That's my opinion at least. But I would say this album is better than Bungle's other two.

@BigHans
Out of curiosity and because I don't want to go through like 80 pages to see if you've already said it, what makes you enjoy this album so much more?
For me, California's blend of accessibility, experimentalism, relaxing yet still occasionally bombastic sound, and atmosphere to suit many more moods and be a generally more enjoyable listen. From the "objective" standpoint - if such a thing exists - I'm so impressed with how wacky and peculiar it manages to be without sounding particularly "weird" when listening to it. This album is still great - really great - but I think for me personally, it lacks the presence and the mystique that I always feel when I listen to California.

I dont know man this has riffs and hooks and some great melodic parts.
California just doesnt do any of that for me.

Yeah man I like all kinds of music but my top 3 criteria for great music is
1. Hard riffs of fist
2. Catchiness, not in the top 40 sense, just does it fucking grab you
3. Good sense of melody, which can cover alot of ground, but I know it when I hear it.

For examples on this
The melodic chorus of Kindergarden
The rad riff in the verses of Kindergarden
I could go on a long time but yeah this album rules

You sound like you'd enjoy The Arusha Accord and The Absence (two different bands, sort of a technical-y hardcore and a melodeath band, respectively) then. Just two random completely unrelated recs to this album.
This album has some sweet riffs on it though. When I'm done listening to California I'm gonna spin it and probably will have it rated tomorrow man it's been forever since I jammed this in full.

a great example of what i look for in music is in In Flames - Goliaths Disarm Their Davids.
Has the hardest riff of truth that is at the same time insanely melodic. I mean thats top shelf shit for me.

FNM is like sliding into the hottest chick you can imagine while Bungle is like getting blown by an amateur who rakes her teeth across your shaft.
Probably the best way I can explain how much better FNM is than Bungle.
