"I actually hate that the only professionally shot performance of Danny Carey playing anything from this album is fucking Pneuma."
It does go very hard live tho.
Originally I loved the production on this album but now when I listen to it, it just sounds very sterile. Nothing hits harder than any other parts, except maybe the climax of invincible

Probably another smoking hot take from me, but this is by far the most interesting tool record.

They will never reach the heights of Aenima and Lateralus.
But in all fairness, even though 10,000 Days and this are weaker than those two, they are still great albums. If it were another band releasing this everybody would hail it as the best thing since sliced bread.

Agreed, 10,000 Days has too much filler but I think Fear Inoculum is fantastic.

The highs of 10,000 Days absolutely dominates, though. Those high points are some of the best moments of their career tbh, even though as a whole it doesnt flow as well.
I prefer that to this, this is just kind of forgettable unless I'm sitting down and literally trying to focus on this for an hour.

10,000 Days is great but there are a few filler tracks.

This is true, but even with the filler I still go back since it has some of the high points of their entire career
