"Lol. Can we just agree which album is their worst though? I think we know."
Uh, yeah lol. I don't even consider that a part of their discog lmao.
I like Pariah quite a bit as well, but I think the atmosphere that they used on CWA is just unrivaled. It's unabashedly catchy, but also has such depth to it. I just don't feel the same way about El Cielo even though it's excellent. Ec, I'm glad you got my back on this, CWA is the best Dredg album!

I cant really say that since I haven't heard Pariah and Leitmotif, but I am still with you on being better than this!

Same last. It's a shame.
CWA certainly has an atmosphere I love too.

I wish I understood where they were coming from with Chuckles; I listen to it sometimes to try to understand what direction that they were attempting to go in. The only decent song is the Ornament, and that one was a fucking b-side that they slapped on there. It's just so lazy and passionless.

@Ecnalzen
You wont miss out on anything by not listening to Chuckles. But you should definitely listen to Pariah!

Yeah Ec, you'd dig it. Especially if you like CWA better than El Cielo. ;)

Listening to this now and I honestly think this is my favorite album lyrically. Even over lateralus. Some of the most engrossing
lyrics I've ever came across.

I think its awesome how people listen to music differently, and thats one of the reasons music is so magical.
For me, lyrics are like the last thing I listen to. Being a drummer, you can guess what the first thing is. Then it would be all the other musical elements. As long as the lyrics flow with the music I'm usually good.

Well even though I don't play anything, I listen for everything. Dino's snare sounds awesome and the songwriting is amazing on this too, but it's all about the lyrics and atmosphere on this one for me

There are times when I feel that Pariah is actually the best thing Dredg has done, but more than with any other band I find different albums are truly great at different times/in different moods.
I really dig Kalathat off of Chuckles too.

I love Dino's snare. I think the only one I like more is Mario Duplantiers, especially on The Way of All Flesh.

Unless the lyrics are just remarkably bad or something along those lines, that is.
I plan on listening to the other two at some point. I'm interested to hear what they did before this and after Catch. Its always interesting to see the full (or at least most of it in this case) picture when a band has a pretty sizable evolution from album to album.

And believe me, the evolution from leitmotif to here is astounding
