Reason 1: Most of the songs are executed the same exact way

Reason 2: A song like So Did We, which rules, is ruined by an overlong ending that doesn't use repetition to it's advantage, but uses repetition that for me, is boring and pointless

Reason 3: Aaron Turner's vocals are decent, not really powerful

Reason 4: The middle of the album is mostly overly repetitive and lacking in interesting dynamics that make the bulk of other post metal albums more crushing and truly dense

i might change it to a 3 because it's kinda solid, but for me an album with plain songwriting, overlong songs, lame buildups and an inconsistent set list isn't a 3.5
