i agree shape of punk and pixies are average, but you probably just need to learn to love pre-90s production values before certain records start to make sense

that's it right there. I like modern prod too much. doesn't even have to be squeaky clean and refined, just seems like everything pre-1995 sounds the exact same. maybe that's just me being 12 tho

I honestly don't know why production is such a big deal to some people. As long as the music's good, you can enjoy it regardless of the production right?

I've never had any issues with production tho, save for some early 00's and 80's records (seriously tho the production on hounds of love is so hard for me to appreciate)

Production isn't really an issue for me except for 80s stuff occasionally, but as with this with most 80s albums I'm fine with it after a few listens, except for with really mainstream 80s stuff where the production is even more flashy.

Fame, fame, fatal fame

It can play hideous tricks on the brain

But still I'd rather be famous

Than righteous or holy

Any day, any day, any daaaay

But sometimes I'd feel more fulfilled

Making Christmas cards with the mentally ill

I want to live and I want to looooooove

I want to catch something that I might be ashamed oooffff

Sweetness

Sweetness I was only joking

When I said I'd like to smash every tooth in your head

Nice one boney. All together now!!!

Oh! Take me back to dear old Blighty,

Put me on the train for London Town,

Take me anywhere,

Drop me anywhere,

Liverpool, Leeds or Birmingham

Well I don't care.

The opener on this is relentless

"We can go for a walk where it's quiet and dry

And talk about precious things

But when you are tied to your mother's apron

No-one talks about castra-a-ation"

Yeah smiths openers are something else but The Queen is Deads lyrics can't be bettered.
