There was a time I would have agreed with you, but tbh Asymmetry is bold as fuck in its dissonance and is an absolutely beautiful albeit anti-melodic album. The Yin to Sound Awake’s Yang. Took me a very long time to understand it.

The problem with Karnivool taking so long to do *anything* means that the odds are stacked so much higher against them now. Everyone's expectations will be off the charts. Whatever they release will be ultra divisive, just like Tool.

Hard agree, massive grower album after how immediate Sound Awake is but it has some really brilliant cuts.

Agree but disagree w the time thing, its not like theyve spent 12 years slaving over making the best album possible. It's gonna be as good as anything that takes 2 years but we've been waiting 12 and it's gonna unfortunately feel like that.
