Isolation Years rules

Isolation years is rad. I still like the filler-y sections of GR but atonement and hours of wealth come across as slightly filler-y/Mikael dicking around. I love that synth/acoustic section of hours of wealth though

Rad?? It could be a Dire Straits song.

That little sliding up the fretboard part at the end of the choruses is one of the smoothest things on the album. That's the best way I can think to describe what I'm talking about

Does rad just mean good? I thought it was like 'out there, man'.

We've changed the meaning to "good" since lifting it from the hippies

Absolutely love the sound of The Garroter. It's probably one of Opeth's most unconventional songs but in the best way

"You diluted the concept of radicality!"
I guess by the current definition, radical ideology now just means "good ideology"

The garroter is really cool. Probably the most inspired songs they've released since like watershed tbh

It's got an exceptional amount of memorable almost singable instrumental themes while still maintaining the early sound, definitely top tier agreed. It's also the reason why BWP sounds so clinical to me in comparison

BWP is overrated, I don't understand the hard on everyone seems to have for it
