huge ratings for this album, pretty excited, haven't been in the right headspace to breach any Cult of Luna for a long time since like Eternal Kingdom was released. Have to mood up for this.

Are you going to take back your comments about Sput only listening to metal... At least in relation to this winning Sept's AOTM? You clearly don't think this is a run-of-the-mill metal album.

Far as I can tell from his statements there's no real point to taking this back, it's a fair assumption based on the content that dominates this site.

Yeah, but it's about the context. He was complaining in the AOTM thread, lamenting the fact Sput only listens to metal in relation to this album storming to victory - an album that by his own admission is now 'superb'. I just want some validation, ha.
I'm not bothered about the site demographic thing, this place clearly is quite metal orientated, I said so before (may even have been this thread).

This is the AOTM only because september is poor. It's a great album but has no oponents.

The album of the month tally also didn't have that great of a spread (typical of a first time trying it thing) of 30 something votes which is pretty dismal considering how large the userbase is/could be.
The month itself also comes into play, while not heavily leaning towards a lot of "major" albums, there are a lot of excellent albums that came out that month that flew and still fly completely under the radar. It makes sense that a more 'popular' album would receive more votes this way.
