Sputnik's averages are (almost, depends on genre) universally inflated, where completely unremarkable releases end up with 3.5-3.7 type scores, this devalues what should be a very good score.
So people like me who do actually enjoy the album in question look like naysayers because it ends looking like a negative rating relative to the average.

Finally got this CD in the mail. Ordered it from their website and it took about two weeks lol.
Anyway I had never even heard of this band before sputnik. I also ordered Brother Sister. Gonna give these a whirl and if I like it, I’ll order the rest of their discog.
Listened to two songs (Knitted Sweater and Masses of Men) and really liked them, especially Sweater. Fantastic song. That said his singing style will definitely have to grow on me (hopefully). The lyrics can be pretty nonsensical and he sounds like he’s basically talking at times lol.

Yes I will definitely be chiming in with my thoughts on each album as I go. Still going through Thrice’s discog for the first time (Major Minor is next), then going through Brand New’s then MWY. But seeing all this chatter I’ll probably spin Untitled soon.
I’m new to sputnik but man, I love it already. Discovering all these great bands. I had heard of Thrice and Brand New But never listened. Never even heard of MWY.
