Yeah, that's a good song. Pretty much everything other than Sink With You is well crafted, even if the lyrics aren't always the best.

3 songs are good and Underoath released it

@Calmrose I'm just saying that it wouldn't be such a volatile reaction to it. people maybe wouldn't still like it, but it seems like it's hated even more because people are comparing it to their old material.
@Darius Well, at least I'm not the only one. It's a legitimately great record. Even at it's worst points, it's still listenable, just not very interesting.

This is garbage and Underoath released it.

ah okay, got you now
still don't think it's that unfair to compare to previous albums, especially since the three albums before this one are all near classics
|

It’s because Underoath’s previous material was so strong that this seems even shittier

I mean I definitely compared this to older material, because they were going on a good path with Disambiguation into Sunburnt and Unsound, and then dropped this pile of ass

I think that's a perfectly fair stance to take. A band's discography is always going to be compared amongst itself

Oh yeah, not saying that it's unfair to compare it to their old material, I'm just saying that's probably why it's been getting such hate. If you wanted UO to keep on the Disanbiguation direction, I get hating it. I just feel that this album is well crafted and mostly well written. It has to start somewhere, Bloodlust, and No Frame are seriously some of my favorite songs of the year. I honestly can't wait to see the evolution of this sound on later material.

I honestly wasn’t comparing this to anything when I first jammed cause I think that’s unfair tbh.

The band’s attitude is getting them a lot of hate too. If they’d shut up about the Christian thing it’s probably just fade out

Didn't they say they're not a Christian band anymore or something?

that's like what all their interviews are about now lol, how they're not christians anymore

Jesus, it's really fucking funny thinking about that. The two times I saw them they took a break inbetween every song to announce they were doing this for their lord and savior. It took us out of their performance completely with how much they preached.

Did they preach as much as For Today did?

Never saw For Today so I can't say.

The preaching thing is why I don’t want to see a lot of “christian” bands that I like. Even as a Christian I can say, I go to a show for the music. If I wanted a sermon, I’d go to a church. That’s the main reason I probably won’t go see WATG even though I loved their last album.
