it is the time of year to turn the lights out and put All Neon Like on repeat

I'm more of a "snuggle in a blanket while listening to Unravel" man myself

snuggling with several balls of yarn seems more apt there

Bumped, way better than just a 4. I think you can make an argument that Bjork had one of the greatest four album runs of all time: Debut - Post - Homogenic - Vespertine.

there's no argument, she just does

especially strong if you were take it from the artist's debut onwards as an 'opening run'. It eliminates a lot of the competition (will now try and think of a quality comparable).

Oh for sure, I honestly don't think I have an argument for a competitor from that angle. Maybe A Tribe Called Quest's first four or The Dillinger Escape Plan's first four if I'm being generous

This album could be released today and it would still sound lightyears ahead of almost everyone.

Easily one of the best produced albums as well, agreed. Listened on vinyl and that shit is just straight power

Ikr. revolutionary. who would’ve thought of using electronic beats in the 90s? so unheard of, because no one in electronic music was doing that at the time.

A little while back I played this album for a few of people who never heard bjork's music (pretty common outside of these online spaces) and had them guess the release date, they all thought it was like some alternative artist from the past 5 years. I think only one of them took the benefit of the doubt and guessed it must be in the 90's. So take that as you will

"Ikr. revolutionary. who would’ve thought of using electronic beats in the 90s? so unheard of, because no one in electronic music was doing that at the time."
Fuck it, ill bite. Apart from one song, this sounds nothing like the majority of 90's electronic music.

I'll double down and say that that sentiment is largely enforced because no one was really making 'pop music' specifically with these sorts of electro acoustics.

yeah, I didn't wanna be the guy that says "name one artist that was making pop music like this in the 90's" but i think the sentiment holds water
