No Nature is easily the song I feel most like coming back to, absolutely ferocious scenes all round

Kurt helps make so much of these songs, instrumental seems pointless to me.

Just more Kurt discrimination by Michael Franzino, the enemy of all things good

Especially because of the way the vocals are produced on this album, in that they're usually mixed more like yet another instrument & not always at the forefront. When bands like DGD release all their stuff instrumental, though, that makes complete sense to me

their instrumental albums are a weird experience because the songs are structured in such a way as to make it obvious that there are supposed to be vocals. it's nice to hear the instrumental parts more clearly but they're just missing something

I guess my thought is the instrumental versions of albums in this genre are probably released, like, not to be digested as a comparable experience to the regular album, but more so as a tool for practicing musicians. Esp DGD's stuff, where that instrumentality is so core to its essence itself

Not my personal favorite (it would be Conversation Piece) but the run from Connector to Kuroi Ledge is... whew

whole record is incredible. my fav stretch has gotta be hand over mouth through recluse but everything here is perfect. next to ungodliness is my fav outside of that run the drumming on that track is absurdly good

Yep this is still excellent.
Also makes me uncomfortable that I have this rates a 4.0 and new Eidola a 3.5 when the quality of this is so much better. Every day I pray for .1 increment ratings, because this would be a 4.3 and Eidola would be a 3.3
