"This is definitely the most mature, nuanced and probably honest pop punk album I've ever heard.
In terms of maturity, the only things that really come close would be Yellowcard"
duuuuuuude yellowcard what, this and yellowcard most mature? Dude fucking lawrence arms and captain, we're sinking and menzingers and tons of other shit like dude

it bear repeating, but this band reminds me of these lyrics:
"Lookin around, wondering what became of what I once knew
Pop-punk mutation lacking passion and ringing untrue
There's something wrong with this picture- Hot Topic setting standards for you to consume, for you to consume
Many of the roots can be traced back to where we're standing
There were people just like me and you who never thought of landing
In a place bands get squeezed out to make room for the Generation Blink-182 rip offs
Is there something I don't get?
How do you buy into that
Am i just getting older, losing touch?
Is there something I don't see?
Shaking my head in disbelief
Am I just getting older, losing touch?
Went to the Vans Warped Tour last weekend
Was an outsider looking in
All the kids were buying so much crap, amidst the generation gap
It was so fucking hot- it sucked
Wanted a beer- it cost six bucks
Seen so many faces throughout the years
As soon as they come, disappear
And now I watch this band with black makeup
And silly synchronized jumps
In a gigantic parking lot
In the Wal-Mart of punk rock"

i agree with cygnatti :D
and I enjoy this album but I wouldn't say they are the most mature pop punk band. they deal with mature themes and ideas, sure, but just because they talk about being older doesn't mean they are automatically "mature"

and emo pop is so ambiguous because "emo" as a genre is already so ambiguous.
I would say this person sums up "emo-pop" really well though https://www.reddit.com/r/Emo/comments/4913pt/emo_history_lesson_part_5_emo_pop/

Looking at the "essentials" that post lists, it really does just seem like pop punk.

FOB, Taking Back Sunday, and even Brand New's Deja I agree with you on, but The Promise Ring and Jimmy Eat World's "Clarity" and The Get Up Kids are all distinctively not pop punk
