saw these live tues, all their doolittle, surfer, COP, shit ruled hard. their new stuff really is poor though, i liked it slightly before seeing em live but they decided to cram like 10 in a row and i was going insane.

I love this album, but if you listen to the Gil version of "River Euphrates" it's just like wow the Pixies are really not serviced by this sound. Idk. This is a recent development for me. Certainly the Doolittle material is better for this kind of production than the Surfer Rosa stuff though

Yeah Gil's River Euphrates is only okay... Albini's is one of their best songs though
I think Gil did a good job on Doolittle/Bossanova/Trompe le Monde because Pixies slightly shifted their style from Surfer Rosa/Come on Pilgrim anyway
