Honestly, I think this is Opeth's best album. I am not a huge fan of the older stuff because for me, while the older stuff is great (which i think makes me more qualified to rate this album because i will rate it as a standalone album rather than compare it to their previous works), it just doesn't seem to fit together as well as the tracks on this album do musically. Both the heavy and soft songs on this album are masterpieces so like a 5.0 rating says, this album is definitely worthy of being called a classic.

This is definitely at the bottom of the list for me in terms of Opeth albums, but it's still great.

Wow, the reviewer doesn't like Burden. For me, it's a stunning ballad which really showcases Akerfeldt's much improved "clean" vocals. The guitar being de-tuned at the end of the song is, I think, really cool. I don't think I've ever heard anything like it. I also don't understand what the reviewer finds so embarrassing about the lyrics from Porcelain Heart. Anyway, where I'm going with this is that I think Watershed is another brilliant offering from one of the most amazing bands in the world. For mine, only Still Life, Blackwater Park and My Arms, Your Hearse are superior.

Yea Burden is a great song. I like how it gives Axe a chance to get into the groovy side of Opeth more. The whole album is kick ass, I just think it should've ended with Hessian Peel rather than Hex Omega.

It really seems like every Opeth song has a shuffle or a straight 6/8 doesn't it?

This song isn't in 6/8. And it's Porcelain Heart. And it would be an amazing song if the lyrics weren't naff.

The majority of Damnation is in 4/4, with a few sections in 6/8.

I think their (over)use of 6/8 is cool though, kind of their trademark.
