I didn't say "easy," I said "enjoyable" and those aren't synonymous (or if you think they are, I would disagree that an album doesn't have to be enjoyable to be good). I personally would rather listen to simple music if it's enjoyable than technical music if it's just some pretentious weirdos wanking around on their instruments to back up laughably ineffective "storylines" or "concepts" for their album. This Message Edited On 04.28.08

I might give that a try. Maybe some time later in the year when there isn't any other boring albums I feel like laughing at. This Message Edited On 04.28.08

But then again, I've never been one to listen to specific bands or genres just to impress other people with my elitist views like a lot of people seem to on this website.
Well I have thus and you should to so everyone on this internet forum will think you are as cool as they think i am.
Seriously thoiugh, clearly you are trying to be cool and be the opposing opinion to something that's well liked on the site saying
Nothing special about this band or album really.
Why would you just drop this one line on one of the most popular albums on the site without giving any reasoning whatsoever. Maybe it was you trying to empress people with your views and your superior taste saying what most of the community likes isn't special...

Holy shit, I've listened to this album at least fifty times, and after reading about the intro to Bloodmeat, I listened to it for the first time! It's fantastic.
Although I feel cheated that I missed it for so long. Any way you can import that onto your iTunes?

Yes, I am the one with the elitist tastes. I mean Panic at the Disco has always been what people who want to look sophisticated listen to. I dropped the one line because that's all I really had to say. Honestly didn't think people would care that I just don't happen to like this very much.

No.
Do you really have that hard of a time believing that I honestly don't like this? Or are you just being a snob? This Message Edited On 04.28.08

Obviously these guys could "outplay" panic with their eyes closed. But it really isn't enjoyable to listen to. Which is the problem with a lot of this type of music. Played this in my room yesterday and actually fell asleep a few times. To me, that means it's a sh!t album. But then again, I've never been one to listen to specific bands or genres just to impress other people with my elitist views like a lot of people seem to on this website.
You enjoy listening to rehashed commerical music, that is saying something i.e. you have bad taste/you're apart of that commerical mass, major record companies, aim for.
That's a fact.
In no way can you say that this isn't enjoyable to listen to cause obviously they have a large and growing fan base.

It's not a fact that I have "bad taste" as obviously tastes are opinions you fukking a$shole. I'm not being duped by anyone. I realize there are people who have way more instrumental talent out there than bands that appeal to the commercial mass. Unfortunately, they are boring. You fall victim to sh!t bands like this that try to transform rock n roll into some sort of high art (that it was never meant to be) because they got turned down from art school and said, "Hey guys I got an idea, let's take our stupid art ideas that nobody understands [not realizing that people understand, they're just stupid ideas] and make a rock band that dumb nerdy teenagers who like bands like Rush and Genesis will love!"
In no way can you say that this isn't enjoyable to listen to cause obviously they have a large and growing fan base.
Using your logic, you could say that President Bush was a good president at least for his first four years because he got re-elected. Just because a bunch of people believe something doesn't mean they aren't stupid.

I'm not ignorant, Grammar Man. I'm aware that there is a large subsection of music listeners who think listening to sh!t like this makes them smart. Nice to see you so plainly demonstrating it for everyone in between though. This Message Edited On 04.28.08

There's snobs in all genres. I really didn't even care much when I made this statement so I'm amazed people are being such dicks about it but w/e. Anyway I love a lot of indie and I don't think I cast off any sort of arrogance about it. I like some metal too. This whole argument has gotten really stupid.

I know. I was just saying, there's snobs everywhere who think their music is the best and they're better than everyone else just because they listen to "higher" music. Hell I used to be one of them.
I have no beef with you dude lol actually the only person who was really a dick to me was highanddriving.

It's more likely someone would listen to panic to fit in with the mainstream fans then listen to a band that little to noone has heard of in the mainstream and if they have they most ikely would say it "devil-worship" or some idiot thing like that.
You like music that's hand-fed to you and jus a rehash of former bands and thats fine but don't say there's nothing special about a band who so many people think there is something special about.
And it's funny that you would make fun of a "stupid concept" for PTH and like Panic...

Grammar elitist?
It was obvious that I only pointed that out because he elected to call me "ignorant" when he cannot even form a proper sentence.

What are you blathering on about anyway? Devil worship? Wtf? I don't listen to music to "fit in" with anyone. You don't know me or my music tastes. I can listen to Panic one day and then Led Zeppelin (my all time favorite band) the next. I can listen to Say Anything one day and then The Shins the next. I can listen to The Raveonettes one day and then Metallica the next. My only pride musically is that I have no tastes based on predetermined genres or elitism.
You like music that's hand-fed to you and jus a rehash of former bands and thats fine but don't say there's nothing special about a band who so many people think there is something special about.
Why not?
And it's funny that you would make fun of a "stupid concept" for PTH and like Panic...
But Panic has a sense of humor about what they're doing, unlike these rock n' roll wannabe-Beethovens who think they're going to flip the fine art world upside down with a rock album. If you love this, fine. I don't get why I'm being attacked. I attacked no one. I simply said this album wasn't great, and for me it isn't, so do you mind maybe stopping now?

Clearly you haven't listened to the album...there is a cat meowing at one point, a country music sample, and a keyboard solo that sounds like it's from an atari video game.
Just because you don't like one song a band has, doesn't mean you should say a whole album isn't special, especially if you haven't even listened to it.

Clearly, whenever you say "clearly," you're about to say something completely baseless.
The conversation is over.
