My favorite is definitely Agaetis

AB doesn't bring the feels though, at least not in this quantity

No you're right, for the feels, this wins, but from a musical point of view, AB beats this imo

Everything on AB is awesome, but this feels like the more complete and fully-realized album while AB feels like an awesome collection of tracks, which takes slightly away from it IMO. This is more powerful just because its atmosphere is consistent and the tracks build and work with each other which isn't the case on AB. IDK I love them both so I'd never really argue with someone liking AB more but this is the one for me easily.

Well yeah, both albums are definitely awesome. Personally, on AB, except Hjartað hamast, which has kind of strange jazz influence, everything really shares the same atmosphere.

And AB has Olsen Olsen and Svefn-g-Englar that have as much feels as most of this imo. But with Sigur Ros pretty much everything is subjective, it all comes down to what album hits you the most imo

Of course dude and I don't really disagree with any of what you said (I fucking love AB so don't get me wrong). But again just going back to the repetition specifically on Jonsi's vocals here every track just feels like a continuation of every other one even when they do deviate in a big way. IDK there's just something about this that feels so complete, but I'm sure that just comes down to subjectivity like you said - something clicks for me when I listen to this in full that doesn't quite happen with AB (which I have at 4.5 so obviously I love). They're both just absolutely beautiful albums though.

AB is sweet but this, musically, stylistically and emotionally is their masterpiece.

i also love Jonsi's voice the most on this one. He uses a lot less Falsetto on this too.

I get why so many people like this so much but to me it's just incredibly boring and makes me want to listen to Ágaetis/Takk

Subtlety stirring, your emotional interpretation of the album it totally your own due to the "lyrics," beautiful vocals, and every emotion can be experienced on here sometimes even in the same song. One of the most engrossing albums ever recorded imo and it transcends.
However, with this said, I still understand not loving this haha

"I get why so many people like this so much but to me it's just incredibly boring and makes me want to listen to Ágaetis/Takk"
If you find it incredibly boring, what is it about this that makes you "get", but not agree with, people loving it so much?
Just genuinely curious, it seems to me like usually if someone can understand why people love an album they at least enjoy it quite a bit themselves.

It's all good, it can work both ways I guess, just like how I get why some people don't like this.

Well, the music is pleasant and it builds to nice climaxes and all... for me it's really just the really repetitive lyrics and the minimalism of the songwriting that make me not love it. For me Takk and Agaetis both have just as much emotion as this but also have way more substance and intrigue and so I like them better
This album is just really hard to judge objectively because it's music that's basically designed to emote an intense emotional response. I tend to prefer music that's a bit more cerebral, but I realize I'm in the minority
