I get liking Autechre, but connecting to their music on a "lets put something permanent on my body to commemorate them" type level, does seem rather unrelatable
I mean even Tool makes more sense despite conjuring some similar feelings

That tat is absolutely moronic lmao.

oh, yeah I actually checked the links and erm Tool guy "wins" easy lmao. I was expecting the Autechre one to at least be some album artwork or something a little more subtle, damn "high IQ" indeed baseline

Yep it's horrific. Even if it was done well it would be horrible, but it's not, so it's horrible on all fronts.

Just because that Polish guy calls himself an Autechre fan doesn’t make him some official member. Read a history book, ffs.

Be honest here people: Has Fear Inoculum quietly become the most musically advanced rock album of the 21st century?

“Even over a decade since releasing any music, Fear Inoculum sounds like it could have been written at any point during Tool’s classic period.”
Depending on which side of the aisle you're on in regards to this album, this one sentence is either a truly damning summation of the album or its biggest compliment. Six years on and I'm still confused about how I feel about this thing.

Sounds like a tool album. I never understood all the complaints about how this sounds and the negativity lol. It sounds like reflection off lateralus them making a whole album of that. Ive seen. So many comments on this record over the years "idk how to feel about this. Or it's to mellow it's to this and that etc etc. It sounds like tool..... Never understood all the weird complaints lol

Heard it in full for the first time in ages, a couple of weeks back... yeah, I get that sentiment.
It's kinda late-stage Metallica where it's a LOT of main elements that a person thinks of, that make up a typical album, but without a decent edit or full-on quality control.
Consequently, the highs are very high (up there with their best), but the lows are frequent and basically the worst of what they're about.
Apparently, a big part of the delay to this album was ongoing crises of confidence amongst the band members (excluding Maynard, by all accounts). I think it shows in at least a third of the run-time. Still love a decent amount of this, though (but alas, not enough to tattoo my neck with it).

Oh wow... just saw... 778 pages.
If you remove all the "Tool sucks/blows", etc. comments, it would probably amount to something like 20 or something, lol.
