Took my hippie friend to see Electric Wizard, he seemed to dig the experience.

NeOb rules. Could see them as a gateway extreme metal band.

Still not completely on board with how the drums are produced.

You mean how they are 3 times as loud as everything else and drown out all other instruments/vocals when he's doing ridiculous blastbeats through 70% of every track?

It can be for me, makes all of the fast sections sound exactly the same a lot of the time.

Yes. As long as we are talking about kick and snare. Cymbals are too low instead.

@Starless. Drums aren't sounding much better on vinyl rip I'm afraid.

@necro. It's about a 4 right now. Might very well be a 4.5 after repeated listens.

@sniff i have heard that the vinyl rip is overall better sound/production wise though. is that a fair statement

i find it weird that whenever ulcerate deliver their best songwriting (here, eif) thats when they decide to have crappier production/mixing lol

I've it at a 4 but it's leaning at a 4.5 too.

Shadowmire says the vinyl is great.

Could've been me who had too high hopes in the vinyl master. Don't get me wrong. I still think it sounds better than the "original" or whatever you'd call it.

I still think every iteration of this (outside the bandcamp stream) sounds fine and y'all're just splitting hairs.

I just get the feeling the sole purpose of this being obnoxiously compressed is to make the drums as loud as possible with nothing to gain from it.
