I have a feeling more people will like it in time.

snw deserves the praise it gets.
s/t needs more love.
really the only problem i have with this record is the production for the most part. but its pretty off putting. carpenters way too loud especially on acid hologram (i wonder if they did that to make him feel as if he was more involved lol).

I agree with S/T needing more love - always been towards the top of their discography for me
|

white pony and snw are undoubtedly their best albums for me w/ snw having the slight edge bc it has cherry waves

As solid as albums like S/T and Adrenaline and KNY might be they end up coming in low when ranking their discog due to the existence of albums like SNW, WP and ATF

it's weird that i listened to this like twice and have no urge to go back and hear it again. like when KNY came out i was spinning that shit daily. the only song that stuck out to me on here was phantom bride
maybe ill give it another shot today and see if it grew

It is an odd album undoubtedly - the thing that is keeping me coming back is Chino's melodies. Certainly not my favorite album by them (yet?), but in terms of his singing performance and melody choices, this is near the top for me already. Possibly because I've aged into an indie bitch as well and this would definitely be their most 'indie' record - recording quality and all
|

possibly least odd album ever
most basic?
possibly
much banal shite?
definitely

"their most 'indie' record"
The fuck does that even mean

We're still talking about this shit, huh?

lol idk - I should've known such an obtuse comment would find me thrown to the Sputnik wolves. I guess I mean in terms of its lo-fi feel - Chino's pure dedication to vocal melodies outside of his focus on say, Diamond Eyes' choruses
Ultimately I'm just happy that one of my favorite bands is 8 for 8 in my world in record releases

"its lo-fi feel"
it doesnt have that
|
| |
calling deftones lo-fi
what's next, calling them harsh?

@LordePots - I think you've suitably made your point about your dislike towards this record. Your obsession with shooting down people who are enjoying this record is becoming more odd than the record to me.
@someguest - context man, context. I'm not obviously talking about Ariel Pink lo-fi; for them though, the recording quality is noticeably scaled back

"lo-fi" AKA "produced poorly"
|

"I think you've suitably made your point about your dislike towards this record."
the fact that there is nothing lo-fi about this has nothing to do with my dislike you fool, its just not lo-fi. fact.
"Your obsession with shooting down people who are enjoying this record is becoming more odd than the record to me. "
well the record isnt fucking odd at all so that hardly means a thing ¯_(ツ)_/¯

"the recording quality is noticeably scaled back"
=/= lofi
=/= indie
