It sounds like Panic At the Disco's Death of a Bachelor and Fall Out Boy's American Beauty/American Psycho. Funnily enough, Jake Sinclair produced both of those albums AND The White Album.

When reading Rivers' Genius annotations for Endless Summer, he makes quite a few comments about "the powers that be" wanting him to do certain things with the song and him fighting against it. He also makes a comment about his manager suggesting to use a piece of lyric he had written awhile back as the song's chorus. I'm starting to think there's some higher up tampering with this song.
