Fantastic show. Vocally spot on, the band was able to build on certain songs and make them more grandiose for the live stage while maintaining the original integrity of the tracks. Very impressive bandmates, each person played at minimum 5 instruments throughout the night. All of the Carrie & Lowell tracks were performed with a backing screen showing old home videos of the 70's-80's which really set the tone for the music and the record. He played some more experimental tracks like Futile Devices and Vesuvius......... and he ended the night covering Drake's Hotline Bling.

They played an 8 minute version of it with some interesting mixes added in and an extended outro, kinda cool compared to some of the more straight forward acoustic tracks off of Carrie & Lowell.

Yeah, drove to Charlotte to see him last night. I enjoyed the rearrangement of the C&L songs and full band expansion. I didn't have tickets until 2 days before the show, and Ticketmaster released "leftover" seats, probably reserved for promo. I ended up snagging 2nd row, Center.

I like both, the live show does a really good job adding the more personal context some people may miss on the album and the extra instrumentation does add an extra layer of power.

Atmosphere here is so amazing.

I'm increasingly convinced that anyone who doesn't at least appreciate this is entirely heartless.

Probably the best and most unmistakable atmosphere I've ever heard from an acoustic songwriter. It's such powerful stuff, and every time I listen to this it takes me back to exactly where I was/how I felt when I heard it the first time. Incredible; a top 5-10 album of my lifetime.

What an amazing show. That extension of 'Blue Bucket Of Gold' that people have been talking about was absolutely breath-taking. Apparently it was his last show of the year as well.

Yeah that ambient part is stunning. Especially because I was like 5 rows back from him. I want to see him again. : (

There's so much atmosphere and tragedy conveyed here. Thanks for the awesome review, wouldn't have known about this album otherwise. It's hard to find words to describe how much I love this.
