i seem to be affected by lyrics more than some, but the music itself on the new album is outstanding too

Thinking of checking this out because i need something to prevent me from listening the new the national to much. Is it really that good? New album is pretty hyped as well?

I liked Dangerous Summer and The Graduate, is this muuuuch more punky? Because if it is, i probably won't like it.

"so someone could be singing about getting raped by a clown in tijuana while eating bulls testicles and shouting the macarena song over shooting roman candles and you'd like it as long as the music was good"

just chippin in, but don't you think that would ruin the song musically xD. Not only lyrically?

'On the other hand, if the music is awesome, but the lyrics make no sense at all that can detract from the total experience as well.'

I take it you have been listening to Mastodon's Blood Mountain/Crack The Skye then?

God you sound like such a fucking fanboy. I never said they are musically inept, in fact I even said that I can appreciate they're good musicians, I just don't enjoy the music they play. And on top of that, I never looked at the lyrics cause I knew it wouldn't chane my opinion of the music, so I have no idea if I can connect with them or not, so stop making stupid assumptions just cause I don't cum over a band you like
