Ok but like how you'd define it, not a band. It's just one of those genres I do listen to but just don't know how to define it.

in very basic terms, sludge is a mixture of doom and hardcore

"Dont go to any Mastdong other than Remission if you're looking for sludge"

Yeah, but these guys are mostly advertised as sludge metal, and the sludge influence is already getting light here

Well there's the sput genre system for you

@Dominion Oh ok. As opposed to post rock which I can describe extremely well, sludge would be one I would have no fucking clue haha post metal is kinda like that to an extent too.

honestly this band was hardly sludge in the first place.
Remission is heavy and it has a sludgy guitar tone but the music doesn't sound like any other sludge I've ever heard. I've always thought of these guys as prog, but even then, not "really clean prog metal" as deathschool said wtf. this doesn't sound like haken

Remission had parts that reminded me of Cold Ascending from Enemy of the Sun and a lot of Acid Bath and Soilent Green, so that's how I'd connect it to Sludge besides the tone

Shit, I gotta get back into Soilent Green too. As for my too clean complaint or whatever I said, obviously there is prog that is way more polished than this, but the way this segues so idk safely, it just positions itself on a side of prog metal that doesn't tickle my fancy at this point in my life. I could've worded my complaint better, I guess

Meh, Remission was sludgy enough imo, not so much here or thereafter.
