I feel like a lot of people have more of a problem with certain Tool fans than the band itself. Of course, some people just don't like the music, but the fan base doesn't help. There's quite a large portion of fans who are pretentious af, saying shit like "you just aren't enlightened enough" if someone doesn't like a song/album, often spewing shit about the ego and the Shadow without even understanding the concepts.



Hell, I got flamed by Tool fans just for saying Danny Carey was one of the best drummers. You'd think that was a compliment, but a bunch of people took it as an insult because I didn't say he WAS the best drummer of all time lol. It's pretty ridiculous, and kinda funny tbh.



Anyway, I still like the band, but I've tried to get into this album and it just doesn't do it for me.

As a drummer of 25+ years, there is no way Danny Carey is the best drummer and I'm sure he'd even say that. He's a fucking world class, mindblowing drummer and he is perfect for his band, but there is no way he is the best, if anyone even can be such a thing.
