It's purely a matter of taste. To most, I think his delivery sounds pained and desperate. It's probably one of the more abrasive deliveries in hardcore and that's good to me.

Imagine if someone you were in a shouting match with said afterwards that you screaming at them is a cheap way of sounding angry. That would miss the point entirely. This music could ONLY be screamed over.
Also, whatchu talm bout? I love love love a good singer. Billie Holiday and Nina Simone are like my heroes. Enjoying screams and enjoying singing aren't mutually exclusive.
